VARDENAFIL (var DEN a fil) treats erectile dysfunction (ED). It works by increasing blood flow to the penis, which helps to maintain an erection. This medicine may be used for other purposes; ask your health care provider or pharmacist if you have questions. They need to know if you have any of these conditions: Eye or vision problems, including a rare inherited eye disease called retinitis pigmentosa Heart disease, angina, a history of heart attack, irregular heart beats, or other heart problems History of blood diseases, such as sickle cell anemia or leukemia An unusual or allergic reaction to vardenafil, other medications, foods, dyes, or preservatives Take this medication by mouth with water. Take it as directed on the prescription label. After you remove the tablet from the blister package, immediately place it on your tongue and close your mouth. Do not take the rapidly disintegrating tablet with water or other liquids. Your doctor will probably start you on an average dose of vardenafil tablets and increase or decrease your dose depending on your response to the medication.
